Real Mexican serape blanket fabric, sourced on the streets of downtown Los Angeles and rebuilt into a strap that can take a gig. Two colorways, blue and yellow, and not many of either.

The real thing, not a print of it
Every strap carries the genuine woven texture and bold striping you already know on sight — the same cloth stacked up on Olvera Street and sold at the border on the way back from Baja.

Blue or yellow, same bold stripe
Both run the same red, white, black and green banding — one over a turquoise field, one over golden yellow. Pick whichever argues less with your guitar, or more, depending on what you’re after.

Brown vegan leather, aged bronze
Brown vegan leather end tabs, triple-riveted in aged bronze, with the Couch logo struck in gold. Warm metal all the way through — it looks broken in before you have played it once.

Our own buckle, stamped
The slide adjuster is our own aged bronze casting with the Couch mark stamped into it, running on a smooth backing that keeps the weave from catching on your shirt. White contrast stitching holds the whole edge.
Loud in the best way
Against a sunburst, a butterscotch or a worn black finish, the serape reads as colour without looking like a costume. It is the strap that gets asked about between songs.
We bought what was there
This cloth came off the streets of downtown LA, not out of a catalogue. Quantities are extremely limited, and we may not be able to recreate this exact colorway again. Future versions will come — these two stand on their own.

Because the cloth is bought as it turns up rather than ordered, stripe placement varies slightly from strap to strap — no two are cut identically.

Same goes for a walk down Olvera Street in Downtown Los Angeles—stacks of them, bright and unmistakable. It’s a look that’s been around forever for a reason.
We took authentic Mexican serape blanket fabric—the real thing—and rebuilt it into a guitar strap that keeps all that character but holds up to modern playing. Every piece carries that classic woven texture and bold striping that’s instantly recognizable.
The fabric was sourced on the streets of downtown Los Angeles, and quantities are extremely limited. We may not be able to recreate this exact colorway again—future versions will come, but these two stand on their own for now and may or may not be available again.
