Turquoise Desert

Rust, clay, turquoise, sun-faded gold and midnight blue, woven into the pattern that defined the guitar strap in the late ’60s and early ’70s. A tribute to that era, built with a two-rivet tab construction to match.

The Weave

A whole high desert landscape, woven in

We call it Turquoise Desert because it carries the full range of a high desert palette — rust, clay, turquoise, sun-faded gold and midnight blue. It reads like a drive through Joshua Tree at golden hour that somehow keeps going into the night.

This isn’t a reissue. It’s a strap that looks like it came from 1969 and works like it was built for today.

The Tab

Two rivets, on purpose

For this run we built a two-rivet front tab instead of our usual three — the exact construction those original woven straps carried. It is a small detail that only a strap person would clock, and it is the detail this whole run is built around.

  • Two-rivet front tab construction (limited-run detail)
  • Exclusive in-tab logo, heat-stamped (limited-run only)
  • White vinyl end tabs

Hardware & Backing

Vintage look, modern reliability

Custom steel hardware and a durable recycled seatbelt backing sit behind the weave, so the strap looks the part but holds up to a modern gig schedule — the vintage look without the vintage strap’s problems.

On The Player

Warm wood, warm strap

The rust and gold tones sit especially well against mahogany, sunburst and natural finishes — the kind of pairing that made this style of strap a fixture on stage fifty years ago and still works today.

The Fit

Sits right, stays put

Comfortable on the shoulder over a long set, with enough grip from the seatbelt backing that it won’t slide around while you play.

This is a test run in an exact configuration and new tab construction style. Once this small batch sells out, it may not be repeated.

The Turquoise Desert Hippie Weave Guitar Strap is our tribute to the original late-’60s and early-’70s woven guitar straps that defined an era—especially those iconic designs by Ace. For this limited experimental run, we leaned into that history with a  two-rivet front tab construction, capturing the look and feel of those early straps while refining everything else.

The weave itself is something special. We call it Turquoise Desert because it carries the full spectrum of a high desert landscape—rust, clay, turquoise, sun-faded golds, dusky blues, and deep midnight tones—like a psychedelic drive through Joshua Tree at golden hour that somehow stretches into night.

While the inspiration is vintage, the build is anything but. This strap is designed for modern players who want reliability without sacrificing style:

This small batch of about 30 straps is handmade in our California workshop by Couch, it's a test run in this exact configuration and new tab construction style and could sell out quick.

This isn’t a reissue—it’s an evolution.
A strap that looks like it came from 1969, but works like it was built for today.
