Our very first strap, and still our most requested. A devotional image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, sewn onto real seatbelt webbing and sealed under clear plastic so it lasts as long as the strap does.
The first image we ever sewed onto a strap
A bass player friend named Chris had a large Virgin Mary tattoo on his arm and asked us to make him a strap to match. He gave us the actual image, cut from a Catholic prayer card, and asked us to sew it on. That one strap became this one — still our most popular design.
Sealed under clear plastic, sewn to hold
The image is set under a layer of clear plastic and stitched directly onto real recycled seatbelt webbing — the same strong, non-fraying material we use across our seatbelt line — so it survives being thrown in a gig bag for years without fading or peeling.

A following of its own
There is a real following for this kind of Catholic icon art among musicians. By our own count, it has turned up on players from T.S.O.L., Flea’s daughter, Elliott Smith’s longtime touring player Shon “GoldenBoy” Sullivan, and Chicano Batman’s Bardo, among others.

Every strap starts life as an actual image, sealed under clear plastic and sewn on by hand — not printed directly onto the webbing.
This was the first image ever sewn onto a guitar strap at Couch way back in the day. Our bass player friend Chris wanted a Guadalupe Guitar Strap to match the big Virgin Mary tattoo on his arm so he gave us this actual image cut from a Catholic prayer card and asked me to sew it on and make a Virgin Mary Guitar Strap for him.
There is a curious following for this kind of Christian, Catholic icon art and since then this has been our most popular straps to date. We were told two guys from the classic 1980’s punk rock band T.S.O.L. were using them, as well as Flea’s daughter who bought one from the Vice store in Silverlake, and Shon “GoldenBoy” Sullivan who was Elliot Smith’s long time touring piano and guitar player has one too.
