L.A.'s Chicano Batman has taken the indie rock world by quiet storm in the last few months grabbing tons of press and piles of the most coveted support gigs available anywhere.  A quick scroll back on their website calendar shows them on direct tour support of Jack White, playing this year's Coachella, and currently touring sold out dates with the Alabama Shakes. On their own they are headlining bigger venues here in LA including an upcoming event at the El Rey. The New York Times describes their sound as "an expanded version of 1960s Latin rock, with wah-wah pedals and organ — the kind of music a lot of non-Latin North Americans seldom heard before the age of scholarly CD reissues uncovering long-ago scenes in Peru, Chile, Brazil and Southern California. What it does is jammy, fuzzed-out and discursive, full of soul vocals and twin-guitar arrangements; it brings together elements of cumbia, bolero, vallenato and the Brazilian pop experimentalists of the late ’60s and early ’70s." Get the idea? Check out the band on tour near you soon. Bardo of Chicano Batman is pictured here with the band wearing a Buckskin 70's Guitar Strap. Thanks for your support and go Chicano Batman!!
