Bands love our guitar straps because they're both stylish, and built tough for serious rocking.

Pictured above and listed below are  just a few bands that have been seen sporting Couch Straps. If your band uses Couch Guitar Straps send us a pic we'd love to see it!

Wilco

Nels Cline made his network television debut performing with Wilco on The Late Show with David Letterman a while back now. Before he used to play occasionally around Long Beach with Banyan which also has Janes Addiction’s Steven Perkins and Mike Watt of The Minutemen. He was also in the Geraldine Fibbers. Now he’s in Wilco where he uses a Black Couch Vinyl Racing Stripe Guitar Strap. We heard he liked his first one so much he walked into True Tone music in Santa Monica a couple months later and bought a second one. Go see Wilco. They are really great and the record their major label dropped for them later became a commercial success. Now they have a new ones that are even better.

Silversun Pickups

Someone finally figured out what even Billy Corgan himself couldn’t seem to understand after the fact: Gish is one of the most sonic, dreamy, records ever. Good thing The Silversun Pickups are around to pick up on an amazing sound that was abandoned by it’s originator back in the early 90’s because no one else has been able to pull it off since, until now. Silversun Pickups are great. Nikki of Silversun Pickups wears a Skullphone Artists Series Strap and a Brown Deadstock Vintage Luggage Strap on her bass. Check our blog for more on these guys. Nikki, the bass player likes to wear her Couch Skullphone Guitar Strap when performing live on The David Letterman Show!

Alkaline Trio

Cool, Vagrant Records Chicago Hardcore guys Alkaline Trio are wearing Couch- at least singer/guitarist Matt Skiba is- check out the ideo for their song “Mercy Me” for instance and see him totally rocking a black and white Racer X Strap in the whole video. Looks good too. Cool video btw, very Tim Burton-esque. Apparently Matt Skiba has now joined Blink 182 to front the band. Whoa.

John Cale

The Velvet Underground are probably one of our top 5 five favorite bands ever. The cool thing is, John Cale is still writing, gigging, and recording to this day in their own projects. The guys at Vintage Music Hollywood told me that former Velvet Underground guitarist John Cale came into the store the other week and bought 3 of our Racer X Vinyl Racing Stripe straps, all in different colors. Dude, that guy was in The Velvet Underground!

Dhanni Harrison

The son of Beatle George Harrison is an accomplished musician himself. He showed up recently on cover of the the Guitar Center Catalog rocking a Couch I AM 8 Bit Artist Series Strap. Yeah!

Moving Units

Way back around 2003, Moving Units were making the kind of brilliant, quirky dance rock that surely later inspired kids like Block Party and Arctic Monkeys to do their own version of the same. Let it be noted that Moving Units, in our era at least, did it first, and still do it fantastically.

Albert Hammond Jr

Bassist Reno Bo.

Beck

In some ways Beck started to whole Silverlake/ east of Hollywood scene all by himself. He wasn’t the first to be there, but he was the first to start doing amazingly well out of that area and even played the inaugural show at Spaceland. Suddenly rich hipsters and movie stars started buying houses in this sleepy barrio community and a cultural revolution was born. Beck purchased 3 of our Artists Series straps from The Kids Are Alright store in nearby Echo Park. Thanks Beck.

Blondie

Guitarist Tommy Kessler rocks tons of Couch Straps and is a really cool guy. When not playing stadiums around the world with members of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Tommy can often be found in New York City performing with Blue man Group, and On Broadway in musicals like Rock of Ages. That's because this dude shreds!!!
