The Stickball Artist Series guitar strap is one of our favorite Social Studies images. The first limited run of 35 of these sold out way long ago. We are very pleased to have a new version of this strap in another highly-limited-edition quantity of 35 straps.
We’re not sure if designer Aldo created the image himself or grabbed from some obscure source, but it has this kind of simple, brilliant pop art feel to it. The "stickball" images are silk screened in a light-blue "peacock" color, over a brown guitar strap, now with black vinyl backing and white thread (the original run is pictured here with white back, the current run has black backing). To us, all these elements work together to create this very mod- 60’s vibe to the guitar strap.
The image itself is actually four of the "stickball pieces", but you really only see two whole images on the front of the guitar/bass strap. If you look closely on the edges you notice though the very ends of one or two of the other stickballs wrapping around either edge of the strap and getting sewn under the black vinyl with white thread on the back. This gives the illusion that the stickballs continue off in perpetuity to infinity somewhere in the abyss behind the white vinyl of the back of the strap... yeah whatever.
P.S. Please note that this is a limited edition guitar/bass strap. It might be a while (if ever) before we do another run of these so get it while you can.
