We found some vintage 1980's aqua colored vinyl in an old warehouse and decided to use it as the racing stripe for an otherwise brown strap. The colors look really good together, kind of like an old-school pair of Pumas or Adidas or something. This has been a popular color combination here for years. This guitar strap has a timeless classic vintage look to it. It is very mod and reminds us of Speed Racer and Racer X.
The picture above is of Tes from Haarlem, Netherlands, on tour with her acoustic guitar and Racer X Strap. And also that's Josh Epstein of indie sensations Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. performing live on KEXP Seatlle with his Brown and Aqua Racer X. Lastly that's Philippe Raymond Herndon of Caroline Guitar Company and his Olympic White Strat. Rock!
The basic design is based on the Ernie Ball type of guitar strap that dates way back to the 60's, but our version is vinyl, and improved by the long offset racing stripe that runs the length of the strap. The end tabs are made of 3 layers of auto, couch and marine upholstery vinyl and the inside piece is made with a super- strong, fiberglass reinforced, vegan power pad material that lets you rock cruelty free. The back tab has 3 hand-tooled stainless steel rivets holding it together. So strong and oh it looks so good! No leather guitar straps here! It’s a great boyfriend or girlfriend gift idea for the musician in your life. Compare this vinyl vegan guitar strap to knockoff companies who have copied our racing-stripe recently and feel even better about what you get for what you pay here, plus, you'll know your strap is a Couch, made in USA, Cruelty Free, vegan, sweatshop free and worn by the best musicians in the world.
