We had a lot of fun designing this Navajo influenced Native American Camera Strap. The design of this Native American Art guitar strap was the result of a collaboration with artist Matty Byloos (who also did our Byloos Victorian strap) and Couch Assistant Designer Nani. Matty got the ball rolling by sending us drafts of Navajo based art from his Portland studio and then Nani would mess around with it here till we got all the shapes and sizes just right. Then we all brainstormed colors for the strap until we found the perfect modern vibe: bold black print on off white vinyl, stitched in rose, backed in brown and topped off with buckskin beige vegan end tab vinyl stitched in white. Boom.
We tried to as authentically and tastefully as possible represent the amazing Native American culture, as they are the true founding fathers of this great land. We like to imagine this strap is a small homage a wonderful history and culture that's fashion forward as well. This is a highly limited edition artist series strap. We did these mainly as a guitar strap and made only and exactly 30 of these as American Indian camera straps which sold out in a few weeks. We found enough of the buckskin vinyl to do some more of these including Turquoise and Red and Southwestern Salmon.
