This wallet is made from 30 year old vintage found deadstock vinyl we found in an old furniture upholstery warehouse. We only found a very few yards, the rest, our best guess is, probably originally showed up in the late 1960's and early 1970's on vintage sofas and perhaps kitchen sets too. This vinyl has so much vintage detail to it. There are two separate patterns, the embossed leave pattern running counterpoint to the gold leaves over a creme background. This is what we love at Couch, stuff like this that you can't get new.
The insides of this wallet look great too where we had a lot of fun creating some 60's pop complements inside this limited edition wallet by using another 30 year old vintage mustard yellow vinyl, a new-stock off-white and just a little of the 60's leaves vinyl for the pockets and inside panel. Some have the big panel in white, the others in the yellow, both look great.
We wish we found more of this stuff, but we DID find just enough of this vinyl to make about 100 of this limited edition wallets. Each wallet is hand numbered on the inside lining by Jay with a fabric pen to indicate its rarity.
We make these by personally hand cutting each pattern out with a 20 ton die cutter, and then hand silk-screening a Couch logo pattern on the inside, leaving it unlined for a slimmer profile. There are enough pockets to hold at least 12 credit cards or ID's, plus a full billfold area inside for bills reciepts checks etc. The wallet closes securely with a parallel spring snap and you're ready for action.
Boom.
