This vintage "80's Mercedes" vinyl was originally used in the 1980's for the inside of Mercedes Benz'. This type of blue geometric-patterned vintage vinyl is sometimes called "Diamondstar" or "Roadstar", so it was a real trip the first time we overheard the crazy old guys at the upholstery shop refer to it as "Mercedes" when we were there to buy it all up. Later we started looking at the seats of old Benz' and "boom that's the same stuff we make our straps with!".
Now we've taken this deadstock material and recycled it into a guitar strap! This blue guitar strap is light blue accented by a dark navy. Originally used as the back for our Artist Series Black Birdstrap we kept getting requests to feature it on the front. So here you go - another cool guitar strap made with recycled materials from Couch.
Featuring our custom made all steel and nickel plated aluminum metal hardware, our trademark die cut end tabs and hand-tooled stainless steel rivets. Yellow stitching on the black backing vinyl, black stitching on the 30-something-year-old blue vintage vinyl.
Always 1/2 foot longer than the average strap. Always sweatshop free, made in USA in Downtown Los Angeles, always cruelty free and vegan. Always rock tested on stage and made to rock. Couch.
We are down to the last couple dozen of these Blue Mercedes and can't find replacement vinyl, they are priced accordingly. Oh yeah, we did some limited runs in other colors too:
