Like many of our straps, we originally did a tiny limited run of about 21 of these Grey Byloos straps and they sold out quickly. We kept the last one for our own guitar until one night, Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgancame to The Beauty Bar in Las Vegas to see our band The New Fidelity perform. The strap matched what he was wearing so perfectly, we gave it him after the show (see picture).
It took almost a year, but finally, a full run of The Byloos Victorian Artist Series Guitar Strap in Grey! Still limited edition, but more than 20 this time.
We combined artist Matty Byloos’ sense of color and style with our attention to detail to create what has quickly become a Couch Guitar Straps classic: “The Victorian Byloos."
Matty took various bits of our favorite Victorian Era clip art and combined them with his own hand drawn lines and alterations to create the fine imagery you see hand silk-screened onto this strap.
What’s cool about this design, beyond the great Victorian arches and fleur de li imagery is it's bold color statement in the most understated manner. It’s also constructed like a tank.
